Resources are the foundation of colony development. They are required to construct buildings, produce units, and pay for nearly all progression-related actions. In general, resources include everything that can be produced at resource bases or transformed through internal colony buildings.
Resources are divided into multiple tiers, reflecting their complexity and role in progression.
Tier 1 resources are basic materials and are produced directly at resource bases. Their production is continuous and happens automatically at a fixed rate.
Tier 2–5 resources represent advanced materials. They are produced inside the colony by specialized technological buildings of the corresponding tier.
Unlike basic resources, higher-tier resources:
Each colony maintains its own independent resource stockpile, even if multiple colonies belong to the same player.
Resources are stored in specialized buildings, collectively referred to as warehouses:
Different resource types are bound to specific warehouse types.
Resources stored in warehouses can be stolen by enemy combat units during attacks. To mitigate this risk, a limited amount of resources can be hidden in the Hypernova Reserve, a secure cache that protects them from raids.
All resource units occupy the same amount of storage space, regardless of type.
If resources are produced or received while all relevant warehouses are full, the excess resources are destroyed immediately and cannot be recovered.
For each warehouse and cache type, a colony can build no more than three structures.
Internally, all resource inflows and outflows are processed through a centralized system hub. This system is not visible to the player and exists purely as an internal balancing mechanism.
When resources are spent on buildings, units, or any other actions, the cost is deducted in a single tick at the moment the action is initiated.
If building construction is canceled at any point after it has begun, a portion of the spent resources is refunded back to the colony’s warehouses, regardless of the construction stage.
Beyond direct production, resources can also be acquired through:
